The calling of your

authentic self.

Follow your Heart

on & off the Mat

  • My mother was my first teacher. She taught me healing & meditation with Dr. Bali, Iyengar yoga, tarot cards, reiki, aromatherapy, crystal healing and above all, love as the highest truth.

As a teen, I was overcome by illness in my mind and body. I was crushed under the severe competition of rhythmic gymnastics. I took a turbulent turn down many sorrowful and self-destructive paths. I rejected the body because the thought if flexibility and grace were infected with unresolved competitive associations.  My body suffered from detachment. So did my mind.

It was in 1990 that I remember a powerful sense of returning home to my body, which was longing for my kindness and my presence. I practiced to a recording of Erich Schiffmann teaching asana. Moving through the depths and darkness in my mind/body, bringing light with breath and movement, only myself as judge. I had found a way to reconnect with myself.

The mind and body suffer when they are separate. They have a beautiful way of relating, responding and protecting each other. Learning about them, working with them, accepting where they are and giving into what they need,  through the wisdom of great teachers, is how I heal my own chronic pain, misalignments and injuries. I love pass that flame.

  • Having healed myself from illness and several spinal injuries through the wisdom and practice of conscious movement as medicine, my own life became my template my studies. The backdrop of Vedanta, Tantra and Yoga philosophy was something I discovered could integrate into my body and my mind.

In 1997, I earned a BFA from ENSBA in France with a major in Ceramics & Drawing from Concordia Fine Arts, Montreal. A love of conceptual creativity have contributed to the way I teach and compile innovative courses & workshops.

I moved to a different country, became a mother, eventually of 4. That is a whole other journey!

Finding myself within the teachings was sometimes obscure. My life was so different than the authors and teachers I knew. Finding myself within these universal truths, allowed me to resurrect the soft landing of oneness.

Honoring the body. The landscape of the imprints of our mind and emotions. A gentle and tangible experience of the many truths. For me, the body can be compared to the mind, with a consciousness and a sub consciousness. Sometimes we can feel and other times we shut off from places. Where we open the body, we open the mind.

To know ourselves, to forgive ourselves, to see our tendencies and habits as adaptations. To have the ability to be spontaneous, authentic and free. To relate to life this way.

The deeper aspect of movement on the mat beyond the range of motion, the balance of strength and flexibility, the ability to hold with muscles yet allow reverence to the breath, the alignment, concentration, to trust, to surrender, the dance of doing and being, sensing our boundaries, belonging to earth, floating under the stars, releasing expectations, feeling the breath as movement, having the courage to follow the inner prompt, to settle into the darkness, the unknown, truthfulness, dedication.

Things are easy when life is flowing as we expect.

The real learning happened for me each time I hit a wall. Whether it be from an injury or from a personal problem. That is when my healing was always about my ability to understand the teachings more deeply and bridge the gap to my living daily life.

    Learning more

    about

the body, was inevitably tied to finding its comparison in the mind and vice

    versa.

  • Being in a box has never been my style and I am eternally grateful to the continued rainbow of teachings ;

With over 30 years of discipleship,  my offerings are inspired by the many rivers of time-honored practices.

These are some of the things the lineage of teachers, the practice of being human, art and being a mom has taught me.

As a teacher, I draw upon my life experiences and bow to the multi-lineage of wisdom teachers who have imparted their knowledge in me.
